a person-centred psychotherapy and counselling collective based in Dunmanway, West Cork
Hi there, and welcome to The Together Collective. We offer counselling and psychotherapy to individuals over the age of 13, both in-person and online. What we have learnt about mental health is this: we are all unique in terms of what helps us recover. So if we, as a community, can increase the breadth and possibility of what we offer, recovery from mental health challenges becomes more likely.
Our purpose therefore is to develop a collaborative space where mental health professionals can connect, support each other and improve the service we all provide.
We invite you to come on in and take some time to explore our website. If you’d like to know more: we look forward to hearing from you!
Our story
It all started with us asking ourselves: what if we take a wider approach to mental healthcare, beyond our roles as counsellors? What would it look like to work in unison, be part of an eco-system and what if we support our colleagues, network and ourselves with the same warmth and priority as the care we give to our clients?
We see the challenges first-hand within our society: the isolation and inequality experienced by so many, the strains on mental health services and the toll it takes on those providing support. Rather than accept those challenges as unchangeable, we began to wonder what small steps we could take to make a difference. So, over many cups of tea, post-it note-covered floors and conversations brimming with ideas, The Together Collective began to take shape.
We set out to create a place where clients feel witnessed and valued, where colleagues feel connected and encouraged, and where we make a positive contribution to the community and the world of mental health. Our underlying philosophy of Togetherness became our guiding light, from our name to how we designed our services and how we look after ourselves as a team.
Our Values
We nurture a spirit of co-operation and connection, where practitioners support one another. We develop as a community.
We act with honesty, fairness and professionalism in every interaction.
We are always learning, whether from current research, creative approaches, or collaboration with others and our community. We welcome new perspectives.
We recognise the wider community we serve and consider all social, cultural and historical factors. We strive to make mental health and wellbeing support accessible to all.
We place clients and their needs at the heart of our work, respecting their dignity, uniqueness, and autonomy.
We care not only for our clients, but also for ourselves and one another. This allows us to bring quality to our work and contribute to a sustainable world.
Looking to Partner or Collaborate?
Like an eco-system, we believe that mental healthcare is stronger when we work together. We all have a role in our system. When we work in unison, we lift the quality of our collective work and feel supported as human beings. We also increase the breadth and possibility of what we can offer.
